In this piece I feel I morphed as a writer. I also hold it special as it is the first time I speak of my father, who passed away five years ago this coming January, 2012.
This is the second writing I've done for The Jew and the Carrot. The first you might recall was Ancient Rice Offering Is the Heart of India's Jewish Community with a sweetened flattened rice (poha) recipe. I also had a little surprise mention in the Q and A: Mollie Katzen, Godmother of Vegetarian Cuisine written by Gianna Palmer and published this past week at The Jew and the Carrot. ReplyDeleteTY Kankana, I make it without the curry powder as well as a straight forward shakshuka or even deeper caramelizing of onions plus more curry and serve as more of a brown curry.
