In Season - Grape Kiwis at Next Step Produce

As I mentioned in my Edible DC: Bread Furst post, I've been writing and photographing some articles and posts for a few online and hard copy magazines, newspapers and clients. If you missed them, two of them were published here (I'm verklempt!!) and a super fun story, with my voice coming through here.
Two of the articles were for the newly re-launched, Edible DC magazine. Edible DC is a part of Edible Communities, an "editorially rich, community based, local food publications in distinct culinary regions throughout the United States and Canada" as so eloquently written on Edible Communities website.

I am super excited to be a contributor to this fantastic publication in the September issue. Find the article "From China to New Zealand on 80 Acres" on p. 50-51 with a kiwi pear mint smoothie recipe I developed for this particular issue.
You can find grape kiwis at the Next Step Produce stand at the DuPont FreshFarm market but other farmers also grow the fruit. Please check with your local farmers market while these fuzz-less beauties are still in season.
It was truly educational and inspiring to visit with organic farmer Heinz Thomet and meet his lovely family.
